Rubí Saldaña
Law Student
Rubí grew up in Llano Blanco, Sonora — a community where, historically, no one had ever completed middle school. Through Artistic Dreams, she discovered her voice, her confidence, and her purpose. Today, she is a Law student.
Alejandro Méndez
Mechanical Engineering Student
For Alejandro, art was the only thing he had. Growing up in an underserved community, Artistic Dreams gave him a space to create, dream, and believe in his own potential. Today, he is a Mechanical Engineering student.
COMMUNITY STORIES
The Xoxitl Community — Chiapas
In the heart of Chiapas, Artistic Dreams works with indigenous communities where 100% of participating children speak their native indigenous language and live in extreme poverty. Our bilingual programs — delivered in Spanish and local indigenous dialects — honor each child’s culture, identity, and voice. Students have created vibrant handprint murals and artworks that celebrate their heritage and tell their stories to the world.
Casa del Buen Samaritano — Sonora
Casa del Buen Samaritano has been one of our most transformative partnerships in México. Working alongside children and families who have faced histories of abandonment and profound hardship, Artistic Dreams has provided a safe, creative space for healing, expression, and empowerment. As Magda Encizo de Kaufman, Casa Guadalupe’s director, shared: ‘Joining forces with Artistic Dreams has been a profoundly transformative experience. We accompany children who have faced abandonment, abuse, and deep pain.’
P.S. 36 — New York City
P.S. 36 in Harlem was one of the first schools where Artistic Dreams took root. Working with children from immigrant and low-income families, our program gave students a space to explore their identity, process their experiences, and discover their creative voice. As documented by the Columbia Daily Spectator, Artistic Dreams has been bringing out the artist in local youth — one classroom at a time.
